Title: The Wall ...Live - Nassau Coliseum - February 27, 1980 Overall Rating: B Cover: Nicely laser printed stickers, but otherwise none. Price Paid: I paid $20, a remarkably good deal. Tracks: Typical Wall show. Just grab your normal Wall CDs or cassette and look. (Those with poor eyesight might try the LP, which had slightly larger print.) If you don't own The Wall on any media whatsoever, you should go away and return only when you've become a real Pink Floyd fan. I'm sure that there have been multiple reviews of this tape on Echoes, so I won't bore you with all the details. Suffice to say that there are a few drawbacks. We see very little of the stage. In fact, the only things that we see are those in the spotlight. For a few songs, this is only slightly annoying, but around halfway through, it gets downright bothersome. "Turn the damn lights on!" I'd once heard that the footage from The Wall concerts hadn't been released because they'd used the wrong sort of film. I now believe it. The only other serious flaw is that a few seconds of the audio from One Of My Turns is missing. It is certainly not the fault of the kind soul that obtained the footage that it is so dark, so I can't really be too angry about it. The picture is quite crisp. The audio is generally quite clear. Some of the solos are genuinely inspired. I was especially moved by Dave's "Goodbye Blue Sky". This is a significant piece of rock history as well as Floydian history. It deserves to be released, watched, and saved. Buy it if you see it.
